Children’s Room
Children’s Room is the first Serbian children's opera composed in 1941. This production marks its first staging ever since its premiere before WWII. It was done as part of the international project “Opera: Past, Present, Perfect!” led by the Music Opera Theater Organization MOTO and supported by the Creative Europe Programme. It premiered in 2021 at the closing of the BEMUS festival with a huge ensemble consisting of young opera singers, chorus, ballet, orchestra, and children’s chorus. Although it was planned to be performed only twice, the opera entered Little Theater Duško Radović’s repertory, toured Serbia and was awarded two important awards. It is an important milestone in preserving national opera cultural heritage and young audience development.
